Don’s ministry is organizing and participating in short term mission trips. He also uses his musical talent in reaching the unsaved and encouraging God’s people. He plays a “mean” trumpet.
Don spent 20 years visiting the rain forest of Venezuela working with the Yonamamo Indians. He has arranged trips to Mexico, Alaska, Poland and 25 other countries. In 2003 he arranged two short term mission trips for LZCC. One was to Alaska and the other to an orphanage being built on Roatan Honduras. In 2005 HBCLZ was off to Roatan again with Don.
MISSION STATEMENT:
Don Shire Ministries, Inc. is a not-for-profit ministry. Our purpose is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all who will hear through personal ministry and in assisting missionaries and evangelical servants through short-term mission opportunities.
We are inter-denominational and are governed by a board of directors.
All donations are tax-deductible.
DOCTRINAL STATEMENT:
The doctrinal commitment of Don Shire Ministries, Inc., is based upon the authority and reliability of the Bible as the infallible and divinely inspired Word of God, and the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God without error in the original writings. (2 Timothy 3: 16)
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Isaiah 45:22, Romans 11:36)
We believe that all men have sinned and come short of the glory of God; and that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ is absolutely essential. (Romans 3:23, John 1:12)
We believe in the Deity and virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ; that He died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of the world, that He arose from the dead and ascended into heaven from whence He will return with power and glory. (John 10:3, I timothy 2:5-6, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Titus 2:13)
We believe in the doctrine of justification by faith, realizing that it is impossible for man through works to save himself. (Romans 5: 1, Ephesians 2:8-9)
We believe in life after death; that "There shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust." (Acts 24: 15)
We believe in the resurrection of the saved unto everlasting life in heaven and the resurrection of the unsaved unto eternal punishment. (I Thessalonians 4:16-17, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9)
